PURPOSE:
The purpose of the scholarship is to promote scholarly work in the field of disaster preparedness and response in the region of the Americas and the Caribbean. The scholarship provides the opportunity for international participants to attend the PTS’ Annual Congress.
ELIGIBILITY:
Participants with the best abstract accepted for oral presentation at the Congress will be eligible for the travel scholarship.
Applicants with abstracts accepted for oral presentation for the PTS’ student competition, the PTS/ACS resident competition and the PTS’ Research paper competition are eligible for consideration.
Only international applicants (residing in countries outside of the host country of the Annual Congress) will be considered.
Applicants must be an active member of the Panamerican Trauma Society and endorsed by a PTS affiliated society.
AWARD AMOUNT: $1,000 USD
NUMBER OF AWARDS AVAILABLE: 6 per year

DECISION BY SPT: Upon notification of acceptance for oral presentation, all scholarship recipients will be required to submit a full manuscript. The manuscript submission dateline will be notified by e-mail to authors.
DECISION BY SPT SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE will be based on the timely submission of their manuscript and the following criteria:
- Objectives
- Research method
- Application of epidemiological/statistical tools
- Coherence of the conclusion
- Impact of research
