Surgical Skills in Trauma    

Course Name
Surgical Skills in Trauma
Description Theoretical and practical courses divided into 2 phases. One theoretical course will be held in the morning where various surgical techniques in trauma are shown and discussed and another practical course will be held, where these techniques are applied on live animal models. During the first day we will discuss abdomen, during the second thorax. For the first phase (theoretical) medical students or pre-graduate interns may register. For the 2nd phase of practice on live animal models, only surgical residents and trained surgeons will be allowed guaranteed by proper documentation.
General Objective
Discuss and practice the diverse surgical techniques in trauma through lectures guided by experts and surgical interventions on live animal models.
Specific Objectives
  1. Reaffirm the technical concepts of trauma surgery
  2. Discuss the techniques used in trauma surgery
  3. Reaffirm each surgeon skills on a live animal model monitored by an expert
  4. Practice surgical techniques according to the needs of each surgeon

Course Directors and faculty must be experts in the field of Trauma and disaster. The Director and Faculty can be International or Local experts.
